Since it’s inception here in the shadow of the McGillycuddy Reeks, Con Moriarty’s Hidden Ireland Tours have been providing highly personalised experiences aimed at connecting discerning travellers to the nature and cultural history of Ireland.
Born of a rare connection to place and culture by a local climber and guide Con Moriarty of the Gap of Dunloe in 1986, Hidden Ireland Tours provide discerning travellers with intimate and unique experiences over it’s range of services, from a handful of local day excursions for individuals and small groups visiting it’s home-region here in County Kerry to the hallmark multi-day tours throughout Ireland and it’s corporate and incentive offerings. At the heart of these experiences is time shared with knowledgeable and passionate guides.
Intimate guided ascents of our highest – and other peaks for individuals and small groups;
Visitors have been drawn to Corrán Tuathail and the wild region around the Gap of Dunloe and the McGillycuddy Reeks for over 200 years.
Throughout most of this time, Moriarty guides from the Gap of Dunloe have shared the extraordinary nature and cultural history of the region with discerning climbers and naturalists.
Every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the year (– and at other time by arrangement), Con Moriarty, his son Naoise and other associate guides provide guided ascents of this great peak.
Con Moriarty (1875-1949) was born in the Gap of Dunloe from where, over four decades he guided individual climbers and naturalists on the Reeks. In doing so, he followed in the footsteps of his father Dan (1842-1915) and grandfather Con (1807-1875) stretching back to the early 19th century. Today his grandson Con and great-grandson Naoise, continue to share in this tradition.
