Height: 1039 metres

Departure time:  9.30am  Daily

Climbing Carrauntoohil is a challenging day out with a good choice of routes to the Summit   total distance is 10k with 900m ascent.  When we meet at the starting point, I discuss the route with you and the team in order to plan the most enjoyable route for your day trip.with Local guide John O Sullivan with over twenty years climbing in the Reeks and resides at the foot hills of the MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountain range   also  Lots of other guided daily trips around the Hidden Valleys of the Reeks  check out our web site www.lodgeandreeksguiding.com  or give us a quick call to chat about one of our Walks

There are several routes we can choose to the summit –

  • Via Brother O Shea’s Gully,
  • Via The Devils Ladder,
  • Via Heavenly Gates,
  • Via Hags Tooth Ridge to Beenkeragh and onwards along Beenkeragh Ridge
  • Via Curved Gully

If you want something more challenging I would suggest Howling Ridge, but not for the faint hearted, experience in scrambling is essential!
